Rosco TV Paint

Providing maximum and minimum reflectance values to meet the sensitive contrast requirements for standard television and video systems.

Description

When you’re setting up a professional broadcast studio, video production set, or photography space, achieving the perfect contrast is essential. Rosco TV Paint is specifically formulated to meet the strict reflectance requirements of standard television and video systems, ensuring your cameras capture exactly what you need without unwanted glare or washed-out backgrounds.

Available in two essential shades—TV White and TV Black—this premium scenic paint provides the precise maximum and minimum reflectance values required by industry professionals.

Why Choose Rosco TV Paint?

Whether you are white balancing your cameras or creating a deep, light-absorbing void, Rosco TV Paint delivers consistent, reliable results.

  • TV White (60% Reflectance): A light, neutral grey that is precisely calibrated to look perfectly white on camera. It meets the exact specifications for 60% reflectance, making it the ideal maximum brightness standard for video white balancing.
  • TV Black (3% Reflectance): A rich, ultra-matte black designed to absorb light rather than reflect it. Meeting the strict 3% reflectance specification, it provides the minimum brightness intended for transmission, perfect for creating true black backgrounds that won’t bounce light back into your lens.

Application Instructions

For the best results, follow these simple application guidelines:

  1. Preparation: Ensure your surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt or grease. For porous surfaces (excluding fabrics), we recommend priming with Rosco Tough Prime first. If you are painting raw plaster, use a commercial plaster primer/sealer followed by Rosco Tough Prime.
  2. Mixing: Stir the contents thoroughly before use. Do not shake the can.
  3. Dilution: Rosco TV Paint is ready to use straight out of the can. If necessary, you can dilute it with up to 10% water.
  4. Application: Apply using a high-quality brush, roller, or spray gun. Use thin, even coats with overlapping strokes, keeping a wet edge. If rolling, change your roller direction frequently to prevent streaking or patterns.
  5. Clean-Up: Simply wash your tools with soap and warm water immediately after use.

Note: Do not apply when the air or surface temperature is below 50°F. Keep the product from freezing.
