One of the standout advantages of the mica powder formulation is its compatibility with flame retardants. Metallic paints containing actual metal flakes often corrode or tarnish when treated with products like Roscoflamex PA. Rosco Metallix, however, can be safely treated to meet strict theatrical fire safety standards without compromising its brilliant finish.

Versatility is at the core of Rosco Metallix. It can be easily tinted with universal colorants to achieve custom shades, or mixed directly with other Rosco scenic paints to create lustrous, metallic versions of your favourite colours. Whether you are brushing, rolling, or spraying, this vinyl acrylic paint goes on smoothly and dries to an even, reflective sheen.

Available in both quart (0.946L) and gallon (3.79L) sizes, Rosco Metallix offers excellent coverage for productions of any scale. Choose from six stunning, carefully crafted metallic finishes: Gilders Gold, Pyrite Gold, Steel Silver, Cream Pearl, Burnished Bronze, and Polished Copper.

Application Tips

For the best coverage and reflectivity, apply Rosco Metallix over a high-quality, water-based primer that has been tinted to a base colour similar to your chosen metallic shade. Stir the paint thoroughly before use and apply in thin, even coats. If spraying, use a Conventional or HVLP cup gun (Needle/Tip: 1.4mm, PSI: 40); do not use an airless spray system. Ensure application temperatures remain between 10°C and 32°C (50°F – 90°F).
