One of the biggest concerns when cleaning exterior surfaces is the runoff. Many heavy-duty cleaners rely on harsh chemicals that can damage your landscaping. Dryden Surface Cleaner contains absolutely no caustic or hypochlorite bleach. This means you can confidently clean your pergolas, shingles, and cladding without worrying about harming your nearby plants, grass, or painted surfaces.
While it is always a good idea to do a quick spot test, this formula is generally safe around rubber, glass, and most common substrates. It is even highly effective at cleaning up painted surfaces, paths, and driveways, making it a versatile addition to your maintenance shed.
Highly Economical and Easy to Apply
A little goes a long way with this 1kg tub. The concentrated powder mixes easily with clean water—just 10 grams per litre. A standard 10-litre mix (using 100g of product) provides enough solution to clean approximately 60 to 70 square metres, depending on how porous your timber is.
Application is straightforward. Simply mix the solution, apply it using a garden sprayer, and let it soak into the wood for 15 to 20 minutes. Once the cleaner has done its job, you can wash it away using a stiff synthetic brush or a water blaster on a low-pressure setting. Just remember to work on a dry, overcast day to prevent the solution from evaporating too quickly.

How to Use Dryden Surface Cleaner
- Prepare the Area: Sweep away loose debris. Protect nearby windows, light fixtures, and delicate plants.
- Mix the Solution: Dissolve 10g of Dryden Surface Cleaner per 1 litre of clean water.
- Apply: Spray the solution onto dry timber, working from the bottom up if cleaning vertical cladding.
- Wait: Allow the solution to sit and work for 15 to 20 minutes. Do not let it dry out.
- Clean and Rinse: Scrub with a synthetic brush or use a low-pressure water blaster, working in the direction of the wood grain. Rinse thoroughly.
